“There are no Jack Kerouacs or Holden Caulfields for girls. Literary girls don’t take road-trips to find themselves; they take trips to find men. “Great” books, as defined by the Western canon, didn’t contain female protagonists I could admire. In fact, they barely contained female protagonists at all.”

Edward Gorey’s Fantod Pack was first published in 1995. It is a 20 card tarot deck featuring a guide to interpreting the cards by Madame Groeda Weyrd.

“Now that you have learned of all the dreadful things that have overtaken your friends and relations during the past year as scribbled on the inside of their Christmas cards, don’t you want to know what dreadful things lie in wait for you?”

here’s a new ideological movement for you: internet iconoclasm

  • stop putting random internet people on pedestals because they’re funny or quirky or for any reason at all actually
  • self examine and self criticize: are you putting too much stock in parasocial internet relationships? are you being mindful of the humanity of others?
  • never lay down your pride to defend someone you’ve never even talked to
  • remember that the person and the persona can be very different
  • if an online celebrity or influencer deserves to be torn down, then let them be torn down.

If you’re not prepared for your child to think differently from you, don’t have children. If you’re not prepared for your child to be disabled or chronically ill, don’t have children. If you’re not prepared for a child with autism or mental illness, don’t have children. If you’re not prepared for your child to be transgender, gay, bisexual, pansexual, lesbian, or asexual and/or you can’t accept that, don’t have children. This is not up for debate.

Goblin culture is emptying out your pockets at the end of the day and watching buttons, nickels, little pieces of paper, pens and other treasures fall out onto your bed.

goblin culture is forgetting to empty your pockets and finding buttons, nickels, soggy paper shreds, and pens in the dryer later.
